Satelite Clinic(s)
Ashraf Medical Complex started Satellite clinics in North Waziristan. Unfortunately the Satelite Clinics were several times destroyed during military operations in that area. The Satelite Clinics are an effective way to provide basic primary healthcare services to people living in difficult areas, particularly for women and children. A satellite clinic is a small center that carries a team of paramedics and health educators, supervised by a medical doctor.
The satellite clinic also plays an important role in raising community awareness on vital issues such as immunization, safe delivery, family planning, nutrition, ante and post natal care and limited laboratory as well as dispensing medicines, documenting patients as well as referrals to secondary or tertiary care hospitals.
